New year! New goals!
I decided to make some new goals for myself in 2019. I don’t make new year’s resolutions, I never have. I make goals. I feel like new year’s resolutions wait on a start date instead of focusing on a milestone. I have a few goals set and plenty of milestones to meet 🙂
The first week of January has presented some challenges and unexpected events. In one week, I’ve been to 3 emergency dental appointments for my sons. I broke my phone and needed a new one. My trusty computer finally bit the dust and so I invested in an even more powerful beast of a machine. My husband broke his fingers and I’m pretty sure I have an old injury that has caused the bones in my hand to break. I have no idea what’s happening in this whole 2019 thing! But I consider them hiccups or “challenges” only. It won’t last forever.
After my set of boudoir sessions up in Edmonton, I realized how much I’ve failed to take care of myself. Sitting and editing images of such hard working women will do that to you! So one goal is to make time for myself! It’s been wonderful! I forgot how much I loved yoga and how healing it is. I forgot how much a hardcore gym session can clear my head. I forgot how easy it is to get moving and stay moving when you’re feeling oh-so-good!
Another very important goal is to make time for my family! It’s easy to let my to-do list take priority. And then I look back on my days, weeks, months and the year and most of my memories are all the things I had to do for work. My little munchkins definitely deserve my undivided attention and more often.
Those two things mean I also need a more regimented schedule. First things on the list is a working alarm clock. I can’t get moving early on in the day if the alarm clock only works sometimes right?
So there you have it. Two main goals. Get ME back and make memories, all while getting my organized self back.
This beautiful lady is one of many whose inspired me 🙂 She’s a mom of two and keeps it all together!
