After all those years as a woman hearing ‘not thin enough, not pretty enough, not smart enough, not this enough, not that enough,’ almost overnight I woke up one morning and thought, “I’m enough.” ~Anna Quindlen
It’s hard to find the perfect inspirational quote sometimes! But today this felt about right.
There’s this danger when we start comparing ourselves to others. It’s even more dangerous when we start should-ing on ourselves. You know what I mean. It’s when we tell ourselves that we should be thinner, we should be prettier, we should be smarter, we should be better mothers, we should be better wives, we should… Let’s stop should-ing on ourselves. Let’s stop comparing ourselves to others.
Instead, let’s start moving through our days with an appreciation for who we are, what we’re capable of and all we have become. Doing that plants seeds for more positive affirmation because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that should-ing on yourself feels exactly like it sounds.
Happy ventures!
